Thanks Dan, they are good pics. It took ages to set up some of the shots and yeah, photshop was used a bit, he said it would be. For example, he made my bodged rear interior light fitting on the tailgate in white disappear using it. However, the wierd thing is, the way the car looks outside in these pictures is how it looked -generaly- in the studio. That wall lighting has an odd effect on the paintwork, mainly because it's used to bring out the lines of the car, and to make sure -unless intended- no direct light shining on paintwork. 'WARNING! No Flash Photography Was Used In The Making Of These Photographs and No iQ was hurt.'

Thanks Sally. Yes, I am very pleased and as I subscribe to Auto Express I'll be looking out for that special edition. I was wondering though, about my pictures. Should I have put them in here? As they are going to be in the magazine at a later date? Will I be sent to the Gulag for infringing some rule I don't know about. It was pointed out to me earlier this evening that it's possible that I could at the very least ruffle some feathers. What do you think, as you have been in a similar situation, or have you? Did you include your pics on-line before they were in the magazine/s? :help:

Today is 18th April 2012 and this morning I received my issue of Auto Express, number 1213, with those pictures taken mentioned above. As you will have seen, they are back. Hope you enjoy them.

When I had photos done for the six page spread in Japanese performance mag, they sent me a cd of photos and asked me not to put them online until they had been in the mag. I did have to wait 9 months til they printed it though!!

All the other times the car has been in mags, I supplied my own photos so it wasn't an issue...

Might be worth asking them? I think its cos it's a few reasons, they don't want someone else using them in another mag, they don't want to spoil the feature etc.?

When I had my Yaris photographed by Auto Express for their used car review a couple of years ago they were quite adamant that the photos provided to me should not be used or published ANYWHERE prior to them being published in the magazine

I was provided with a full set of pictures on a DVD on the clear understanding that I did not publish them as they own the copyright

May I respectfully request if you have published any of their pictures prior to the magazines publication that you delete ASAP or they may decide not to use the photos of your car, which would be rather disappointing

Done it, removed them, as you and SallyiQ recommend. The photographer didn't say anything about not publishing them on-line, on this forum. However, I didn't say that I was going to do that. I just wanted others to be able to see what went on, to a degree, at the studio. I guess the photo's I took of the day provide that for now. As they are my photo's there is no problem with me having them on here, no copyright infringement.

Appreciate the heads up on it from both of you, and I'm sure everyone else will understand why I removed the pictures, for now at least.

 Down to my keeness to share the experience.

Update: I just had a call from Richard who will be writing the article to go with the photo's in the Auto Express magazine. He thinks it will be out some time in April. A balanced view will be given as is always the case with AE. :driving:

Thanks David. Yeah, the pic site is good. Some expensive pics, but, if you have a favourite car and want a kind of unique pic of it, it's good for that. I used to love the Fiat X-19 when it came out. It was like a little Ferrari to me. I did see a few as a kid, motor shows and on the road. The last one I saw was at Oulton Park last year when the Touring Cars were there. The best colour was... I think it was like an orange (not rusty orange), metallic maybe. Long time ago. Shame that Fiat at that time were crap at making cars. They had some good models, just, as you say, falling prey to the Rust monster. Maybe they will bring in a successor to it, similar to the 500? Who knows?

Thanks for that. Yep Em, I agree with you, the Amethyst is a great colour, except -although maybe there is a colour that this is not such a problem with- for the mud and road grime it shows up so easily. I am also liking the Burnt Orange colour.

Also, it is April, but still not seen the issue of Auto Express the car will be in yet. I was told it's likely going to be some time this month. Will keep this spot posted.

The pictures are back in. Issue 1213 of Auto Express, out today, has the iQ in, so I am able to re-post the pics, which I have done already. Enjoy.
