Child Seats In Gen 3 Prius

Hello there...

Has anyone here attempted to fit 3 kid seats on the back seat of a Prius? :baby:

We've got 3 ankle snappers, 5 almost 6, 3 almost 4 and a wee laddie whos almost 2, they are all in their wee seats in our Vensis, its very tight and pretty awkward to get the buckles in :-( .

Another solution I've come accross, but I'm not 100% on the legality of it are the seat belt adjusters you can get. I've read somewhere on the tinternet that if your kids are at least 3 and are over 1m tall they can use these seatbelt adjusters instead of child seats - as long as you get the ones which have been tested (there is a standard which I cant recall right now)...

Has anyone here used these before?

Also been trying to find out if anyone has got a roof box for the Prius... to find out the cost of it and what impact it has on MPG...

I have got the gen 2 and it's more or less impossible to fit 3 baby seats at the back. I currently have one and i will be fitting another one very soon, from what i can see, it definitely won't fit 3. the gen 3 is only 20mm wider than the predecessor sooo.....yea...impossible.

Hi I have a roof box from Halfords which I have used on holiday and have noticed little or no impact on petrol consumption. The top box cost £90 the Roof Rack £70 you will have to get a ladder if you want to get the kids into it though ?.

The gen3 has ISO-FIX child seat fixings for outer rear seats only so it kind of says no room for one in the middle. :(

Maybe you could take your seats to a dealer for a trial fit (seat contents optional).
