Storage & Armrest

Hi All

I know someone posted about armrests before and they were called Botec Design. Sadly they are not trading anymore. http://www.botecdesign.co.uk/ The one thing that bugs me, is lack of storage. I found an armrest with storage http://www.rockshore.uk.com/car-arm-rest-black-vinyl--chrome---universal-596-p.asp and was wondering if anyone has fitted something like this. I'm not bothered about the armrest, but want extra space to store things. I don't need access to the seat behind the driver either, as I am 6' 0". I just would like something that looks reasonable. Thanks Marc

Another option:

http://www.wptuning.de/Interieur/JMS-Mittelarmlehnen/Toyota/iq/center-arm-rest-leather-Toyota-iq::445382.html

It's specifically made for the iQ, don't have it myself but looks like another possible choice

Thanks Marcos. That looks really nice.

Here's one, but looks a bit home made

Don't laugh. I ended up buying a leather toiletry case from John Lewis and a tiny first aid kit from Clas Ohlson. The toiletry case is very well made and has plenty of space for LED Lenser head torch in case, mini umbrella, the mini first aid kit, pen, credit card size holder for parking card/fuel card etc, plus there is still plenty of space left. It even has a magnetic held exterior pocket.

I just did not want to screw an armrest into the body of the iQ.

It fits perfectly between the seats too.

Marc,

I am always worried about smash and grab with things that are not permanent fixtures. Maybe its because I was born in Hackney.

Yes I agree, but it is very low down and there is not much of value in it. I did not want to drill into the body, but this one did look good. http://www.wptuning.de/Interieur/JMS-Mittelarmlehnen/Toyota/iq/center-arm-rest-leather-Toyota-iq::445382.html

Not sure I'd want to fit one of these. I think I saw someone use a camera case which filled the space nicely.

I am still not sure. I would want something like the link Marc has that looks permanent . something looking like a camera case or a double zip bags can be grabbed and looked into later away from the car. If they get lucky, they get lucky. Doesn't matter what you keep in there, to a crook its a grab and run opportunity, If its a fixture they have to lean in a car through a broken wind ow, open it then go through it to see if there is any value whist still in your car. More chance of detection..

My views only,, Just saying if I was going to have something there i would make it a fixture. I have even Limo'ed my back windows for added security.
