I have commitments all over the place this weekend but I'm much less concerned about getting out of my estate now I've swapped my 3 series for a Rav4 :-)

Well i t looks like we are in the area to be hit by snow and we have to go out tomorrow night,so if it does snow this will be our first venture out in the Rav in snowy conditions :help:

Any helpful advice will be well heeded

Forecast up here is for pretty heasvy snow at Weekend and I am off to the wilds of Glasga, so will maybe see how well the combination of the RAV4.3 4WD and the Conti Snow Tyres work :D

Paul, I had my 2005 RAV4.2 2 years ago in the bad winter and it was brilliant

Just take things easy with no sharp acceleration, braking or cornering and keep an eye out for idiots doing the opposite.

Your RAV will see to the rest

Which "boots" will you be wearing Charlie? You mentioned changing to your summer "sandals" a little while ago. I doubt you would have any trouble with either set of tyres though. Good Luck!

Good luck Charlie. I suspect that, if you don't get delayed, you should be ok but just remember that the wind in Cambridge comes straight from the urals with nothing much to slow it down.

I was in Cambridge a couple of wekks ago and it was bitter even then.

Shall only be in Cambridge for about an hour to pick up a rifle then on for the rest of the Journey.. It should take around 10 or 11 hours if the weather stays clear..

Car now back on normal tyres as I've removed the winter set ready to sell the wheels ....

I'm leading a lovely country 9 mile ramble / walk from a place called Bures on Sunday, its right on the Suffolk / Essex border, about 6 miles from Sudbury.

We start walking at 10am,ready for winter wonderland walk & as its a bit hilly in that area.......the views can be stunning ( well for this area anyway)

Its only about 20 miles from where i live, but forecast is 5-10 cm.....So may even need my crampons
