Hi all im new here so firstly hi to all members and thanks in advance for any advice .Right basically ive never owned a Toyota but have always wanted a mr2 ! so yesterday i got one its a gt t-bar which has broken already. The guy i got it from had it sat on his drive for around 5 months on the way home at garages etc it started up fine then i went out this morning and it wouldnt start . the guy said the cold start was broken so i got me a can of easy start to give a helpin hand but still no joy !so i called out the R.A.C and he found that theres power goin into the coil but nothing comeing out . the RAC guy said inductive pick up in distributer or crank shaft sensor . So im wondering if any of these are common faults ?should i jus replace the sensor or are there any tests i can perform ? Ive just lost my job so cant afford a garage right now so any advice would be greatly appreciated !! thanks for your time

Right after reading a few bits i think im gonna try getting a different coil and ignitor and crankshaft position sensor but what year cars can i get parts from ? mine is 1991 also the guy said the engine is a 3sge engine .is this the right engine for the car as it kinda looks like its not ! few pipes miissin etc

Having seen your plight on the other part of the forum I've popped in here to have a look.

If you put up your location you might find a local member that might be able to help you swap over some bits to eliminate the faulty part.

The 3S-GE has 3 REV's so it could well be you've seen a different varient/revision. It may be worth joining a MR2 specialist forum, MR2OC or MR2DC are 2 that spring to mind.
