New Rav4 Common Noises ?

Hi Everyone, I recently purchased my Rav4 2.2 on a 57 plate with 42K on it, i wondered if anyone has heard of a noise that i have, when you release the clutch pedal quickly i have a pronounced thump from the drive train at the front, i've had it back to Mr T and they tell me its normal for Rav's to do that, it sounds similar to a worn engine mounting. Has anyone else come across this or is it normal as they tell me.

Many thanks

Trent

doesn't sound right really (but how quick is 'quickly' ? )

if it is a "standard" clunk, tell them you want to try their demo RAV4 and see :)

it seems to be when you are coming out of a busy junction and you have to give it a bit to get out in front of someone ( hope that makes sense)

I'm kinda glad you said this because, i get the same thing (or at least i think).

Do you mean if you come of the clutch a but quick you get quite a big clunk noise? If so i get this and i also drove a friends RAV and it had the exact same thing.. I had a look around anyway but i think its just a standard noise they make.

That sounds just like my noise ,quite relieved to hear in a way its not just mine, it would be interesting to know what causes it,i think jedi134's reason sounds like its right, if any toyota mechanic's read this could you explain it to us please.

I think anchorman said its normal, its just slack in the drive train, there may even be a TSB for it. But he's the guy to speak to. :D
