Avensis Sat Nav & In Car Data

Hi all

I’ve just purchased my first Toyota and collected it yesterday. It’s got Sat Nav and there are two boxes in the boot but when I look on the dashboard screen its got everything on it except traffic information does this mean I haven’t got traffic info? When I drive on the road it comes up with distance & time of destination. Also I filled the tank up & on the range it comes up with ranger 283 miles this don’t seem right? I thought it should come up with over 300, how accurate is the range data?

Welcome your advice

try reseting the trip counter by holding the trip button down for a few seconds until you hear a click

The range seems to suddenly 'update' itself on occasions.

For example say you have a range of 80 miles displayed and you fill up - soon as you drive away you might get 320 displayed but sometimes it stays on 80 and then at some point it suddenly jumps to 320.

I don't have the traffic thing (getting technical now !) but the second smaller box in the boot is def the kit for it (my Dad has one). I think it only works when there is actually data to receive and there are huge gaps in the coverage (but could well be wrong on this).

Cheers.

PS

Why didn't you buy my car ?:crybaby:

Thanks for the reply, since I emailed the forum I contacted the Tech service, They reckon fuel range is what was set by the previous owner and depends how the car was driven. Should alter the next time i fuel up if i drive it differently.

Strange I drive a large number of various cars at work and the fuel range never changes always the same only the ave fuel comsumption varies. I forgot to ask about the Sat nav.

Thanks for the info

Your car looks as if it's been well looked after, I had to trade my old Peugeot in, the one I've bought has only done 5,550 genuine miles and I bought it from Toyota main dealer, for once i could afford a bit more since i retired.

Thanks for the info
