Auris Tr D-4D Strugles To Start

hi i have an 07 auris tr d-4d and in the last 3-4 months it has started having problems, when it has been cold outside the car really strugles to start it will turn over but doesnt fire up can anyone help me the car has only done 41000 miles from new and been serviced by toyota every year

Hi Susan, it could be a number of things but unless your handy with the spanners theres really only one thing you could try before taking the car to the dealer and that is giving the car a couple of `preheats` before actually turning the key fully and starting the car to see if it helps any. :)

Hi , there's an Engine ECU reflash available from your local toyota dealer for this fault. Get your local dealer to check the current calibration ID number of the software currently installed on your ECU. It's a simple fix and you shouldn't be charged more than half an hours labour.

The diesel Auris (2.0L) should start easily, even when very cold.

If you are having problems and you dont have the expertise to fix it then you will need to pay a vist to the main dealer. Try to find a recommended garage.

HONESTJOHN website has a list of GOOD garages for the country.

When you try to start, wait with the ignition on, till the preheaters have worked and the green light is ON, then start. Its only a second or two.
