Rear Fog / Reverse Light Question Please

My GFs 03 yaris 1.0 has only one reverse light - which I know is the norm. It also has a bulb wired up on the other side which I assume is the fog light.

What confuses me is that there are no switches on the dash for fog lights and there are no front fog lights. Soooo, is this basically a redundant bulb? Is there any way I could wire it up so that its a second reverse light, or can I buy a switch for the rear fog and simply plug it into the dash?

Any advice is welcomed.

You are required to have a high intensity foglight by law on the off side of the car, so it most certainly is not redundant. Without it the car is illegal and will fail an MOT. Front fog lights are optional. The switch for the rear fog light is on the left hand stalk inwards from the light switch. There should also be a warning light on the dash to tell you when it is lit. Only works when the side or headlights are on.
