D4D Avensis Losing Compression

Hi,

My 2005 D4D Avensis has packed in because the engine is losing compression. One cylinder is at 75% and two others are below 50%.

The mechanic says there is nothing to be done bar a new engine.

I bought the car second hand five years ago and I put on 80,000 Km bringing it to 126,000Km (~80,000 miles)

In those five years I did not abuse the engine and it mainly did long steady drives on motorways.

Overall I'm very disappointed the engine pack it so soon and with such little mileage.

Would anybody have a suggestion for the best course of action (sue Toyota :fireman2: ) and is the engine repairable / salvageable?

Rgds

John
