Bosch Aerotwin Wiper Blades

Well, getting to the point where I need to replace front wipers and am looking for feedback on Aerotwin wipers fitted on a 4.3 Rav.

Wife has them on her Golf and they seem to be very efficient.

So:

Are they available for the 4.3 RAV and how well do they fit? [seen them on e-bay but unsure if they would really fit]

If you have them, are they any better than Mr T's in terms of clearing the screen and windnoise?

David. I have the normal Bosch ones on My car and they are brilliant.. Never bothered with any other make or type. I always buy Bosch ones.. Combined with Asda screen additive at 2 quid for 2 1/2 litres a clean smear free screen whatever the conditions ..........

Thanks Charlie, good start there then as the Bosch fitting must work on the Toyota arm

I've always used Bosch wipers in the past too.

Just curious about the potential advantages of the Aero Twin type - are they worth the extra I wonder?

Tried those Aerotwins on a Passat years ago, Dee......absolutely brill in medium to heavy rain, but totally useless in that "smirry" rain we get in Scotland....Wales....That England....Ireland. In other words great for delugification, garbage in Scotch Mist...!!!!

Sounds like they need plenty of water for lubrication or they smear then? With such a small washer bottle that's going to be an issue. Wonder if the compound has changed.

Will have to borrow wife's car when it's 'smirrying' down and check

I've tried every sort of wiper including Toyota Optifit, Bosch frameless and several other brands.

None come anywhere near the proper ones that came with the car but expect to pay over £50 a pair.

.

Agreed, Kevver. Fitted them to the GV and not very happy with them at all in Dartmoor solid clouds aka anything less than heavy rain. :-(

Dunno about the fronts but just replaced the rear one like for like and that is excellent.

We've bought Bosch twice for our 02 RAV (once by me & once unbeknown by me my my better half) but never again. Both sets went in the bin within 6 months. Utter crap imho. Can't fault the TGB blades and they're cheaper than Bosch.

Duh?! No idea, Oh Great One From the Northernshire. I asked Mr.T to replace them at last service. Only distinguishing mark is a cute little blue square on the driver's blade. They work really well though, no smears, no juddering.

The better half cannot stand any imperfections with her fwd vision so I know that if she complains about the wipers then they are not up to scratch. So far the TGB ones continue to have her seal of approval.

Another thing is that the genuine Toyota Wiper Blades seem to last much longer than the alternatives and are therefore good value for money, I reckon.

Using Bosch Aero Twin from september. Really satisfied. they are lubricated with graphite layer.

I was afraid how they fit to my 4.3, because the shorter (on Continental europe right) wiper was a bit shorter than it should be. It is almost nothing, you really can live with that small triangle unwiped on the bottom of the screen.

winter experience: usually when the wipers come thgough the frozen windscreen, they are unusable after. these works almost like nothing happends.

Next time my choice is clear - the same!

OT:

well, lets not talk about VW Group - Bosch wiper system, that is really stupid!!! and even the VW lovers hate it :P

my question:

what you are using on the back wiper arm and how can you mount it???

Back wiper is the Toyota supplied one for the RAV.

Dead easy to fit - just lift the arm, bend the wiper part back and it unclips. It's only a simple plastic press fit. Takes about 30 seconds.

Yea, isn't there a service sheet about replacing the rubbers in the pinned section?

Had these on the windscreen for the last 3 weeks and they have excelled in every condition. Far better than the nonsense that was on the car before.

Must admit I never looked closely what was on the car. It could have been OEM or something else. All I knew was that it left the windscreen very 'smeared' upon each wipe. With the new blades, this doesn't happen.
