Coolant Leak On 94 GT

Thank for looking,

sorry if this has already been raised before, on the weekend i lost all my coolant, after refilling i noticed it all come out (like a tap on full) from the front of the engine,the local garage (Halfords, i know not the best place, but The AA dragged me and as using there parts and labour warranty) there saying that it a pipe that goes under the manifold.

Has this happen to any on else as i find it a bit stange to that a coolant pipe would go any were need the manifold.

plus i dont want to be ripped off any more for work not needed.

the car normal driving temp is fine and doesn't go over half way mark even if sit in traffic but if on the motorway it lost all the heat.

then refilling the coolant the engine wasn't running and straigt away it started coming out on the front left of the engine.
