strutting my stuff in my new SPEEDO trunks.................The "S" was missing off the label  Stew

The "O" came off mine too. Then I couldn't swim in a straight line and the water turned a funny colour too.

So, our resident manfish is halfway to his distance goal so it's all downhill from here [can you go downhill in a pool?]

Anyway, why not give some of your dosh to this excellent cancer charity before Mr Osbourne gets his mits on it.

You'll feel way better

And don't forget, if you are a UK tax payer you can 'gift aid' it so Mr Osbourne has to pay some too. That way you'll feel doubly good

Surely if the vessel is underwater, submergified, the pool would OBVIOUSLY still be full of watter.....?

Mmmm! but was it the original water? at what point as it submerged would the original water have been flushed out and replaced by seawater? One for Aquaman me thinks, WHO Could do with everyones support,,,,

I reckon the specific gravity (SG) of the chlorinated pool water would be slightly higher than that of the sea water that attempted to invade it and infuse, so it may come to pass that the original pool water is indeed still present. Totally untested theory, and only one of us qualified to explore, and could be the subject of a totally separate sponsorship.

I was going to say it is even more amazing, considering the Titanic didn't have a swimming pool. Turns out it was the first ship to have one. Possibly for the unfortunate souls, an even bigger one than they planned.

It's not clear when chlorine was introduced to pools. Possibly sometime in the 1920s, so it is unlikely to have been Chlorinated. Therefore no need to Don (who?) diving gear.

QI (Don't call me Stephen Fry - I hope he doesn't).

I think that joke went badly wrong Stew and not of your making. Keep 'em coming though.

Well here is a diagram of the Titanic complete with heated pool, Now i reckon as it virtually nose dived, with leonardo di caprio and Kate winslet clinging to the rails, Celine warbling in the background, that 90% of the water in the pool would have sloshed out before it submerged and levelled out on the sea bottom, so some of its contents must still be the original, as it was a heated pool, maybe its still lukewarm. Stew http://www.historyon...argecutaway.htm

PS if you click on the swimming pool, it tells you that the pool was filled with sea water, I dont know if that was before or after it sank :D Stew

PPS the pool had seperate bathing times for men and women, so no eyeing up the Totty, there then Andy :naughty:

That would make this a fair bit more difficult then, as eye-candy is a major factor in keeping me going. :D.

On a completely different note. I don't like to single out individuals, because I consider any donation as equally valid as the next. All very much appreciated.

However, there is an individual who has been collecting donations on my behalf, which has boosted the fund quite considerably.

He probably wants to remain anonymous.

Some say he works as a black cab driver and that he has 24hr security guarding his twin exhaust from jealous forum members. All we know is he is called ****. :batman:

We always knew you were a top bloke!:toot::cheers::toast:

A Big THANK YOU

I think he should accept a reasonable offer on those exhausts as they really don't suit the RAVs ;)
