Auris 2.0 Brake Disc & Pads

Been quoted £250 including labour for disc and pads all around due for work tomorrow. Quality discs with Mintex pads all round.

Is the quote reasonable?

Can any of you confirm if the rears have brake shoes if so the mechanic said the price may increase if in need of replacement. As the handbrake does not hold well at the moment.

Please advise ASAP?

My old man did it for a curry. The brakes cost me £180 ish (on the Verso) so its only £70ish labour, good deal in my opinion.

The old Rolla and current Corolla Verso have tiny shoes in the hubs (IIRC) and are adjusted via a hole in the disc to tighten the handbrake. If you mean for the main service brakes then no as they have discs and pads all round.

Doesn't sond like a bad price! if its like my Avensis then it'll have inner handbrake parking shoes that cost £7 (Trade) at ECP for Pagid parts. Look at the MTEC drilled and groved (Black addition) with either Mintex or better still Ferodo pads. Much better than the Bosch that were on my car and look really cool....

according to page ch-108 on the attached PDF, it looks like the Auris uses the pads for the parking brake.

Had Blueprint discs and Mintex pads fitted all round today actual price was £270 including labour as the parts shop orginally quoted wrong. Are blueprint any good?

I can confirm the rears do not have brake shoes the handbrake is operated via the caliper and pads. Handbrake still seems weak, is there any other adjustments that can be made?

Thank you
