We currently own a 2.0 VVTi Auto on a 2002 plate and it's a fantastic car and I think you made a good choice. It's a real workhorse and fantastic in the snow

My wife has got a diesel on the same year and there is a difference in fuel consumption. I tend to do a lot of miles and get between 28-32 mpg but I think everyone's driving style is different so dependent on your style of driving I suppose

Overall it's a fantastic car and I'm sure you'll enjoy it

The RAV4.2 shape is a real classic and the 2.0 VVT-i is a great engine so you'll enjoy the drive for sure.

The economy is not the greatest sadly, but the fun factor compensates :D

Definitely agree whole heartedly with yaris and David on this one.

When my last one was attacked and B E R'd by an idiot in a scuby I never even gave a thought about any other car as a replacement

Heres to many happy years motoring ahead for you.

I've owned a low mileage (40k) 2000 2.0 vvt-i NV 5dr manual since December. Awesome car. No problems to report and it was jaw droppingly good in the snow we had recently. Only downside is MPG. I'm averaging around 27MPG but just posted an all time high of 30.1MPG last fill up and that's driving like an old man. The last fuel period coincided with a warmer spell so I'm hoping to see better consumption as the weather gets warmer. Enjoy your new car and welcome to the forum :-)

i think you ll not be disappointed with petrol rav as to drive. do not blame with it if MPG would be more than you expect - you did not purchase a sedan :) - you have an advantage to be higher road. cheers

We've had our 02-reg VVTi auto from new and it now has 70K+ miles up. Lovely car. MPG is crap but it does depend on how you drive it. We've had three 4.2's altogether and still also have a 54-reg 3-dr auto. I've always reckoned that lousey MPG is offset by otherwise briliant reliability and they aren't expensive to service.

Enjoy,

JIm
