hello everyone!!!

we are planning to travel to france by car in july.

it is our first time to cross border via dover-calais route(sorry, not tried any before).

is there anyone here who can help me about ferry crossing and booking.

do we really need to book in advance or we can just arrive in dover anytime buy our ferry ticket at the gates/piers and follow the queue to the boat/ship?

thanks

Booking in advance is essential.....Particularly in July which is peak season

If you do not book you could be left waiting a long time at the port

Take the train, forget the boat. Unless you really want to have a sit down and have a cuppa.

More importantly, dont forget the high viz jackets, fire extingusher, warning triangle, bulb kits, breath test kit etc etc

Train is expensive and boring, ferry crossing around £20 per car and 2 aliens, cheaper if you go to dunkirk.

Seems move expensive on weekends and at peak times, better tues-thurs at 2am :D

Ferrirs are so Romantic also..:P

I use these. http://www.eurodrive.co.uk/

All you need is your passport and your booking number, most times you just need you passport, as they get all details from your reg.

Happy Sailing........

Can't wait for summer :D
