Fuel Warning Light

Hi, hope someone can help.

I was driving my 2008 hilux vigo when the fuel light came on.

I checked the filter, no water, and changed the element..

Put a meter on the float sensor and raised the float, sensor works.

I tried to re-set the light by disconnecting the sensor and re-connecting it with the ignition on/off but no luck.

I tried holding the odometer re-set while turning on the ignition, and got 15, then 1-9, which I believe is to re-set the timing belt light.

Car runs well, but I have the annoying light, any ideas?

Cheers

Andrew

Dealer reset only

It is not a dealer reset, not SST required.

The correct way is to disconnect the sensor on top of the housing, IG on and reconnect. This only works 1/2 the time. The way I do them is to add a very technical tap on the top of the sensor housing with the handle of a screwdriver! May seem rough but it has not failed me once and I've been doing ot since they came out! Have changed a few repeat offenders due to sticking floats.
