Thinking about getting one of these. Anyone got one that could tell me what real world MPG they are getting?

Also does the car feel nippy enough for a 1.4?

Hi, on spec the 1.4 is supposed to do more mpg, but i test drove a 1.4 and a 2.0 and found at 70mph, the 2.0 was at 1900rpm and the 1.4 was at 3000 rpm, most of my driving is around 70mph, and at the moment i am getting 65 mpg combined, unfortunatly cant tell you what the 1.4 would be doing, just imagine it would be less. this however has been calculated manually, not by the computer as this is some what a guide than at all accurate. It will be interesting to find out what the 1.4 actually does. we needed something that could accelerate quickly, which is another reason we went for the 2.0, found the 1.4 just wasnt quick enough on accelarating on b roads for overtaking . hope this helps.

You're getting 65 mpg! That's extremely good. I'm only getting around 47 mpg and that's just from motorway speeds.

The 1.4 is fantastic in the Yaris and okay in the Corolla, but the 2.0 feels much better in the Corolla although it drops a chunk of mpg.

I suspect the Auris will be a similar case, esp. as I hear they haven't kept the close ratios of the Yaris and Corolla in the newer cars...

In terms of mpg, I'm currently averaging bang on the official combined rating for a Mk1 diesel Yaris (64mpg) and IIRC the 1.4-equipped 'Rolla wasn't too far behind.

The 2.0 was like, 10-12mpg down tho'

I don't want to sound like an advert here, but if you want real world MPG figs you really need to go to 'honestjohn.co.uk'. He keeps a record of owners findings on all aspects of the model, not just economy. A very helpful site !

Been putting in £60 of v power diesel and getting 500 miles a tank full at £1.50 a litre

and thats every week, quite a varied journey to work everyday, and no motorway. I would luv to know if anyone has a tuning box fitted like the itialian box and what they get a tank full?
