hello everyone,

can anyone help me with my 1999 rav 4 auto?

we i am reversing i get a noise and a judder from what feels like the rear axle. It also does it when i am turning going forward.

It goes and sweet as ever when she's driving along at normal speeds but i am totally lost as to what it could be.

Can anyone shed some light on this for me? p.s i have taken off the propshaft and the problem goes away!!

Kind regards

Derek Scorland

Welcome to the club Derek

Sounds like it could possibly be the rear diff mount.

A member known as Bothwell Buyer is the resident expert on your vintage of RAV so, hopefully, he'll look in at some stage with other possible suggestions.

It will probably be the rear axle mounting or any one of the bushes on the rear axle / tie rods. 52380 in the picture
