Not bad for a half ubikd job. ;) Plenty of lube when using the clay otherwise it will mar, but as you say, you can feel the difference like night and day. Even new cars need it done.

Maybe one day I'll get you to bring it up to me and I'll spend a day making it look pretty for you. :)

Sounds like a plan. :)

Once the decent weather gets here I'll spend a few days giving her a good clay, polish and get the wheels off for a clean inside and paint the callipers and discs.

Looking forward to it really, just so many other things in the way at the minute. Been plastering a ceiling today in my house and building a 4.6 V8 engine tomorrow for a friend, Never a moment to myself! :)

Cheers

Craig.

I've been using clay bar for years. I wax my cars every other wash and clay bar every two months. I did my Father's Honda CRX the day after he brought it home from the dealer, he was amazed how much crap was already on the paint. Wonderful stuff!

I've heard quite a lot about these clay Bars. Read about product tests on them done by Auto Express, and very interesting to hear you guy's have a lot of success with them. So, I think I'm gonna follow your example and get a clay bar kit for the summer. I have a great bit of polish that is supposed to be really good -my brother bought some for my Dad and claims it's the dogs danglies- so that will go on after a good claying sesh. Gotta look after the little blighter, the iQ that is.

Okay, I'm going to admit to something now, and some of you may find this disturbing so if you get easily disturbed, don't read on- I find myself staring at the iQ sometimes through our kitchen window. I know, it's a bit of a sick thing to do, but I just can't help myself.

Ha Ha Bob. Quite often when I park my car somewhere and the light catches it or maybe just the angle, I wii out my phone and take pictures of it. Very sad I know.

You'll find you can see the light scratches/swirls under street and petrol station forecourt lighting. Polish/glazes will mask these, and remove them if worked enough.

Bob, there are different levels of abrasiveness in clays, so I'd start with a soft version first. Say Bilt Hamber with plenty of lube. There's plenty of videos on google/you tube showing you how to do it.

The best way to tell if your car needs a deep clean is to run your hand over a panel after washing. All those little bumps you'll be feeling are the deep contaminants that the clay will lift and remove.

Follow the claying really depends on the colour of your car, for light colours sealants bring out the best results, whilst darker colours a good wax. The wax doesn't need to cost an arm and a leg either.
