Does Aygo Have Brake Assist?

I was wondering if Aygo has brake assist. My wife's Aygo has spongy brakes with no sign of assist as far as I can feel (I am comparing it to BMW E91, which has great brakes). From the dealers record, the brakes in the Aygo were "cleaned and lubricated" and they had charged the previous owner for 750 ml of brake fluid which suggests to me that they did brake fluid bleeding. All that in June 2011. The brakes are still not good enough. Are Aygo's brakes really that bad? What should I expect. I can brake the car to a halt but the braking distance is not good enough. It even passed a MOT, a month ago with brake test without any remarks. Am I expecting too much from a little cheap car?

There's no Brake Assist available on the Aygo, although it is on the Yaris.

The Aygo has ABS and Electronic Brake Force Distribution with Cornering Stability Control.
