I change my oil and filter every 6-8k (Toyota say 10k) and the air filter get cleaned (K&N) every 10k, fuel filter changed every 20k... I like to do mine well before the manufacture say so... Gearbox oil every 60k.

Hi there, according to the Toyota service schedule for an avensis 2006 D4D.Oil and oil filter every 10k or 12 months, the air filter every 4 years or 30k the fuel filter every 6 years or 40k which ever come first.

With regards the gear box oil this listed only as an additional inspection with no recomended time scales for replacement, however it is a good idea to have this changed.

In addition the brake fuild shoild be changed every two years.

hope this helps.

A lot of manufactures have "A sealed for life" stance when it comes to changing the gearbox oil!.... But dont believe it! Gearbox oil does lose some of its protective qualities over time and milage. Its a simple job to do (Takes about 2.3ltr) and could save you £££££ on a new box...

I change my filters on a regular basic because I manage to get genuine Toyota (Denso) fuel/oil filters for a song! A fuel filter from Mr T will cost you over £40! and I bought mine for £4 delivered!... Anyone can get these for this price if you know where to look

eBay... :bookworm:

Hi guys, Toyota changes the gearbox oil on mine every 40.000 miles or so they said. I know they did it on mine, but when I changed it at 80.000 miles it came out black, a guy told it because they added an anti friction additive, also Toyota said to use 75-90 fully synthetic, but I've been reading that the guys here recommend a straight 75, si I'm confused as to which one to use?
