Hi i have a 2000 Toyota Avensis and my prob is the last few days i have had the Air fan on not Air Conditiong, and i heard this Noise coming from the Glove Box and i realised when i turned the fan of the noise stopped ,

The Fan still works when i have it on and on high etc

Would the motor be on the way out ? any clues please

it could be the motor on the way out but it could also be as simple as a leaf from a tree stuck in the fan housing. you'd need to strip it to check.

Sorry I've not stripped one in an avensis but they're usually not too bad. Probably take the glovebox out and look for a big round shape, turn the fan on and you should be able to find it. They often have a cover which is fairly simple to remove.

bit more simple but have you changed the pollen filter, when they get dirty they do make a funny noise,i need to change mine twice a year,it's really easy to do,if it's not that and the fan's going it's not to bad to do,i got mine from a breakers for fifty quid, although it probably isn't unless like me you drive a cab and have it running 9 hours a day,it took nearly 3 years of that sort of use to burn it out1
