hi all

did a search and couldn't find anything about what is happening to me

yesterday some kids knocked my driver's side wing mirror off

the glass is fine and attached

the only broken is the pivot where the mirror spins when you fold it in

where can I buy that piece of plastic? what's it's name/part no?

If the mirror is off and the pivot is broken, then you need a new mirror, if it just the plastic cover you can buy those

Do you have a picture of it?

Kingo

it's the pivot

a new mirror? the whole assembly? surely parts can be reused, painted parts, glass and insides look OK

do you have a link to one I could buy?

will take a pic during the day, thanks

What age is the car?

Our old car (57' Verso) fell off when being folded in, the whole cost....wait for it.............almost £300 fitted at Mr T. As Kingo says, its a whole unit.

Concur....

It was about £240 / £250 fitted when it happened to me. Like you, I was also gobsmacked so I came on here and heard the bad news. My wife took the car to Toyota and even the guy there made a few phone calls to enquire whether a part could be replaced.

My dealership at least only charged £40+vat for labour, and did it whilst my wife waited.

It could be worse - starter motor failed in Dec, wing mirror fell off in Jan and window regulator failed in Feb..... When it went in for the latter, I've been told I also need 2 new tyres shortly, front discs, and pads front and back!

£150 for a green one + fitting!!!! Car being silver made it pointless!
