07 Avensis Check Cd Warning

Hi new to the forum. CD player in my 07 Avensis suddenly given up the ghost and will just say "Check CD" however it won't play any? I have tried a CD player cleaner. Any other ideas? Thanks in anticipation...

if it's doing it with every cd,it'll be buggered,not dear for a second hand replacement though

Hi there, this mite be a bit left field, but I have had this problem on an Auris, what happened, was that a 10pence coin had been lodge in the cd slot by, you guessed it, one of the children, so its worth checking, the dealership removed it OK. Working ok now. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the help so far. It went into that mode mid CD play so no 10p coin! In terms of gettin 2nd hand one I had a scout around and could not find one. Where would you suggest and any thoughts on a guide price Pauljj?

Nelly43, are you still experiencing the same problem because I have been experiencing the same issue for the past 2 years but the player always gets to work at some point. noticed it normally happens during winter time. however, at one point I had it fixed by some specialist company called Maple Audio based in Bath although they wouldnt tell me what the problem was. Google them and find out if they can fix it but I am sure they can. Cost me about £200 as opposed to a replacement cost of circa £3000 by Toyota.

Neilly43 Are you still experiencing the same problem with your cd player. Mine has been off-duty for a while now and I am now inclined to think that it might be a manufacturer's problem.
