Thats it done! I'm quite stunned by how easy it was to install - especially as I the most adventurous thing I've ever done with car maintenance is changing the tyre!

shcm - thank you for the audio testing manual. If the new radio ahdn't worked I would have delved a bit deeper on that, but as the other one is working fine it seems fairly obvious that the FM tuner had given up on the old one. I will keep the manual, and hope I won't need it!

Now I have the 'perfect' Rav 4! Delighted! Poor kiddies will be subjected to my choice of radio from now on though, so they may not thank you!
