hi i am new to all this, but i would appreciate some advice. We have just replaced the head and water pump on our 1993 estima lucida 2.2 td . it started first go, but has a missing sound in one of its injectors, could anyone advise what this could be, maybe timing or faulty injectors? help would be appreciated

hi debbie !

It sounds like the timing belt is out a notch on the injector pump this can easily occur when reassembling the cam belt. I have normally set the engine up on top dead centre no.1 cylinder set all the toothed driving chain to their respective matched markings relating to the front casting on the engine, mark them with tippex or white paint if necessary and on the toothed gear flange marking this makes it easier to see in subdued light. use the sprung tensioner with the 6mm allen key to give you the slack for easy belt replacement ,double check

that timing marks are still in alignment when tension is on. just one tooth off can be detrimental to performance.

With engine out the jobs a doddle, unfortunately like me it is in situ in the vehicle with a full days work?

Best of luck hope this assists.
