i have enquired at my local dealer about a dog guard for a hatch avensis, new model. but all he can tell me that it is £90 and £30 for fitting. he doesnt have any photos or any in stock and wont order one unless i am going to buy it. has anyone got one of these?.

if so what is it made of cloth or metal etc and is it easy to fit myself?.

thanks

matt

Matt, Haven't actually got one of these myself, but did enquire about them at my local dealership. They did a bit of phoning (surprised yours didn't) and they said it was metal. unfortunately they weren't available for a month (this was in april 03).

Ended up buying a dog carrier (its like a popup tent) which attaches to the loops in the backof the car. Only takes 2 mins to fix when required and most practical as it keeps all the mud in the carrier rather than your car....you ever witnessed a wet dog shake itself dry in the back

Well min has got the dog guard and it is made of a kind of plastified cloth with a metal bar on the top to link to the roof.

Its quit nice and handy

Your not getting confused with the cargo net that comes as standard on the Tourer are you?
