Leather Seats Tsb

I am aware there is TSB out for fixing the drivers leather seat if it becomes cracked down the sides.

Is this only covered if the car is in warranty or is this an out of warranty fix too?? If so to what age??

Thanks

Weblers.

Normally a TSB is only covered by the standard factory warranty, or an extended warranty. A recall is generally safety-related and therefore has no such restriction.

would the TSB be honoured within an EXTENDED warranty period as well as the standard warranty?

If so, sometime it could pay to take out an Toyota Extended Warranty and then report? (some may think that dishonest maybe, but if it is a manufacturing/design fault which is being addressed, I don't think so at all)

Extended warranty does not cover interior as far as I am aware.............

I doubt it would be covered either, from the T & C's

The fact that a piece of technical information which relates to a specific upgrade

or repair work for any specific range of vehicles has been published on this

website, and that the vehicle belonging or used by a user of this website falls

within such range, does not, as such, mean that the user's vehicle effectively needs

to be upgraded or repaired or that they would be entitled to such upgrade or repair,

whether against payment or under any warranty action.

As AM says, a nicely worded letter, stating all the facts, how long you have had Toyota's, how many miles covered, letting them know there has been an issue etc

Kingo

Our 2006 T180 also has the cracking as well. I just put it down to age. The passenger seat doesn't have any cracking but it is rarely used.

Had mine done, albeit under warranty, about 15 months ago. Noticed the price on the dealers computer (for the whole base section of the seat) was getting on for £900 !!!!!!!!!!!!

My old seat was showing signs of cracking but I used a decent leather feed / conditioner and it got no worse.. The replacement seat that I got in order to replace that seat cos I could not get rid of the creaking is better but still has very slight similarities which I would expect to see on any leather..

I very much doubt if warranty would cover a five or six Year old seat but its worth asking !!

What do you use on leather seats Charlie, mine need a good clean and pamper.

Try Nivea cream [or creme as they call it]

Soft leather and your car 'll smell nice to boot

You might want to try it on your face too 'cos your age is starting to show
