Problem Fuel Injection Control Unit

hi guys new to this forum,i own a 2.2 avensis d4d 55 plate. my alternator packed in last week . got a jump start from rac to get me to garage to get it fixed

,but now car wont start ,problem seems to be fuelinjection control unit , bought a used one as toyota want £500 car will still not start, dont know if this one is dead too. ineed to know do the injectors need reprogramming into new unit . car is a taxi so i have not earned a penny for ten days ,any advice would be much appreciated

also i tried my unit on my friends car and his would not start which makes me think it is fuel injection control unit

have been told by atoyota dealer injectors do not need programming in. just need to find a used unit that works ,proving difficult

.come on toyota uk stop ripping everyone off ... £500 for a fuel injection control unit

I think you answered your own question when you tried it on the other avensis and it wouldnt start. I would google avensis breakers and eBay again

all injectors are only fuel valves receiving a signal from ECU. it is simply solenoid coil -- all others are mechanical parts

yeah cheers, after driving 63 miles to halifax to get one from a breakers , got it back home and that one is knackered too

. have ordered onother one, should be here tuesday

Bit strange to have so many knackerd injector driver units id start lookin elsewhere for a problem .have u got any fault codes

is the immobilser working when key inserted

as previously mentioned any fault codes

ecu cannot just be changed from vehicle to vehicle as they are security programmed

it could be as simple as reprogramming keys to orginal ecu

Hello

i hope this was resolved hence the thread stopped. 

I am having same problem I have change injector driver 3 times as is the only problem coming on the diagnostic. 

But all three are still doing the same. Not starting or start on limp mode will low raves . Please help
