Hello guys and girls,

I have just purchased a lucida and the guy selling it was upfront with me and told me it had an overheating fault. He said it overheated after 20miles on the motorway. So I got the car home, removed the rad, flushed it then mixed up some red coolant and distilled water to the correct ratio and filled up the cooling system. I cant get the overheating problem to reoccur. Am I lucky and its fixed or is there some other checks I could do. We have access to a field and as it is SORNed presently I have been driving it around in circles for 2 hours and the needle wont budge above half way. So basically I am asking before I look into getting it taxed and mot'ed is there anything further I can do to eliminate the possibility of a cracked head?

Also I heard that some models have a captains chair or swivel chairs, how can I check mine has this? It doesnt seem to swivel upon having a quick check. Is it only certain chairs? A google came up with nothing.

The car is a G edition, 1994, 2.2 diesel automatic.

Thanks
