Yaris Sr 2008 Mp3 Query

Hopefully someone will have a quick answer to this poser. Bought a 58 plate Yaris SR a few weeks back and really pleased with it. Finally got around to having a go with the MP3 player using a memory stick. I know the stick is ok as it works fine in my son's identical 58 plate Yaris SR! Query is this; on inserting the stick, the on screen display (Tom-Tom) shows all the music files being downloaded through to 100%. I then press the power/source button and the on screen display shows track 1 together with name of artist etc exactly the same as in son's car.

The on-screen display then shows a bar (ornge in colour) as if the track is actually playing but no sound comes out. Whilst the orange bar increases left to right, the figures at the side of it do not change i.e it shows 0.00 to the left and the length of the track, say 3.56 to the right. These don't change.

In son's Yaris, music starts playing straight away.

In all other aspects, radio, CD, sat-nav etc sound is heard with no problem.

Is there a setting for the MP3 part that I am overlooking?

Any help, pointers appreciated. Many thanks.

Sorted! Much tinkering by the Missus (credit where it's due), revealed that the sound setting for the Tom-Tom Sat. Nav was set to off. Reset it to "on" and, Eureka, we have MP3 sound.

Interestingly enough, I did e-mail Toyota help desk as well, and to their credit, they did respond within 24 hours. However, their only suggestion was that I should book my car in with my nearest Toyota dealer and let their technicians have a look.
