Sidelight Rav4.3

Just noticed tonight only one of the front sidelights is working on my wife's RAV. Is it rediculously easy to change the bulb or should I just take it to the dealers?

The washing machine also broke tonight - hope there isn't a third thing!

Thanks for any advice

David

It is really very easy.. Just pop up the bonnet and take a look. No need for the dealers Mate honest !

Charlie is right as long as your wife's Rav is a 4.3, but if it's a 4.2 like my wife's, I only did hers (both sides) last week, and the easiest way is as Anchorman suggested to me, and that was by partially unclipping the wheel arch liner from the bottom up until you gain access to the bulb(s)....actually was a slight PINTA of a job, but if I can do it, most folk can...

Let us know and I will advise further on what I found.

4.3 really is easy but ·····It is also easy to lost the light in the depth of the engine bay (I lost two like that as not a very positive fit IMO)

aha, David.....the hint is in the title of your postification...."sidelight Rav 4.3" gives it away....why didn't you say....?

Absolutely dead easy job after you remove the plastic radiator coveriser thing (nine wee poppers hold it in place) You will drop at least one of these plastic poppers into engine bay....FACT.

Thanks Kev. I will have a look tonight but I think I will take to the Dealers as I am quite clumsy!

Kev, I know the facelifted RAV4.3 has a longer plastic cover thingy then yours, but after taking the cover off to do the Headlamp bulb upgrade, I then realised that in fact you can just reach in a little (at least on mine) and get to all the bulbs without removing the cover - I am pretty sure it will be the same with pre-facelift.

David. I would hope the dealer would be happy to do this without any money changing hands though. watch the guy do it for next time
