Spanner Warning Light

Hi

Sorry if this has been covered before,

I have got a yellow spanner warning sign on the dash, I believe it to be a reminder that a service is due? but someone else said it may be that an oil change is due? and another said it may be a problem that will need looking into.

Has anyone had the same light? if so what did you do?

I had a service about 6 months ago from a guy I know at a garage, I imagine he didnt reset it

Does anyone know in laymans terms how to turn this off?

Cheers

Adam

As far as I know its only related to reminding you that a service is due

Try this to reset it:

No key in the ignition, press and hold the odometer reset button

Then turn the key in the ignition so that the electrics come on but don't start the car

You should see the odometer reading flash, I think its 000000

That's it

On the 06 ones it is purely an oil change reminder and only comes on at the 20,000 mile service. To reset you do it like this:

1. Turn ignition key to 'acc' or 'lock' position with the odometer showing

2. while holding the trip reset button turn the ignition key to 'on'

After holding the key for 5 seconds the odometer shows all zeros and the light goes out.

Your odometer reading will return to normal afterwards
