Yaris - What To Look For When Buying?

Hello

Hoping to get a 1.0 or 1.3 Yaris and have been looking about, anything major that I should look for usual rust spots, clutch wear etc? It will be anything from a 2000 to 2002 plate - budget is tight! Should I avoid high miliage examples or are the engines sound and ok for. 1500000? I see there is a bit of debate on whether to go for a japan or french built one - any definate advice? Or are both fine!

Just watch for the petrol filler pipes to the tank.. they rust.

As above really, but you'll struggle to find a yaris with such a high mileage... I.5 million, I know they're good but not that good
