Hi everyone!

Just become a member. Thinking of buying a new IQ.

Can anybody tell me if the latest MY is 2011 or 2012? Don't want last year's model if this year's is available!

Thanks

Cathy

Cathy, firstly welcome to the forums. Hopefully you'll find us a nice bunch with some helpfull information.

In answer to your question I think it comes down to if they need to build the car to your specification, as in optional extra's. But I have a feeling that they will have some already sitting waiting for buyers. The registration however will be whenever it is first registered, so as long as it's past the 6 months when they change from the 0 numbering to the 5 numbering.

Welcome to the forum.

Ask the salesperson about the date of manufacture, exact spec of the one you are looking at

& the current spec of a new build and things like expected change of spec coming up,

and use the net to research changes.

Limited availability and lead times for ordering will all make a difference.

A new car after Jan 2011 will or should be a Euro 5 engine and the spec will be as itis unless you are specing to what you want.

(Euro 4 engine possibly up to Nov/Dec 2010 and could have been first registered in 2011)

A vehicle First Registered after March 2012 is surely a 2012 model,

but ask and make sure that it is not a 2011 model from a build before November 2011 possibly.

Should make no difference if you like a car that is sitting in front of you and for sale and you like it.

(ie, From November all new cars in Europe require Tyre Pressure Monitors as standard, other changes may also happen as it becomes a 2013 model later on in 2012.)

I am also in Angus.

If you are dealling With 'Struan', someone like Steven in the Dundee branch will certainly keep you right on everything.

have fun choosing your car, i am sure you will not be disapointed.

Thanks both!

We've dealt with Struans before & always found them helpful & pleasant. But it's always good to hear the thoughts of forum members too!
