Diesel Or Petrol?

Hi, I am new to this. I have not owned a Toyota before but we are looking to buy a Corolla Verso. I want diesel my wife wants petrol. Any help appreciated.,

Reading up on this I have discovered various issues connected to the 2.2d-4d, excessive oil consumption, turbo issues etc which has put me off a bit.

Or is the fact that people who actually are unlucky with their car are the only ones who go on the internet? Colin

Welcome to TOC...

It really depends on how many miles you'll do a year! If less than 20k go for petrol, if higher then an oil burner. What you have to remember about a forum (Any Forum) is that most come on here because there is a problem with there car! its no oftern that people just come on and sing the praises of a manufacturer.

There are thousands of very happy diesel engined cars owners out there that never have a problem, so I guess its a pays your money and takes your chance! Just try to find one with good service history and check out the known problem that are highlighted on here...
