i do not know about the T180, but as my other car is a mondy how did you get around the MIL light coming on due to lack of EGR flow, nobodys been able to find a fix for it on the euro four engine.

Its already had the cat removed. So are you saying i can get rid of EGR if i fit piggy back box? Can these cars not be remapped then either?

I (And about 99%) of TOC members would love to know how the D-Cat and 5th injector was removed! As it cant be done... Post some pics up for us please and a "How to"... The ECU can not (To date) be cracked!!! so NO re-map... Has to be a piggy box mate...

Thats how i bought it, if you look underneath car theres a length of new pipe thats been welded in so i assumed it was were the cat was as why else would it be there?

  • 3 months later...

One independent garage has recently told me that I could just fit an EGR blanking plate and leave the EGR connected.

Is there a problem doing this as the car runs fine with the EGR blanked off.

Or is there a nasty surprise waiting for me just around the corner?

STOP EATING MY POSTS!!!*ahem*As I was saying, IIRC some people on the RAV section tried that, but after a while the check engine light came on because the ECU noticed the lack of airflow through the EGR, so that may not work. Or maybe blank it off but leave a small hole?

No warning light as yet, done about 25 miles and the car runs better.

No hesitation, much smoother and no misfiring as there was before but if the warning light comes on, I'll drill a small hole in the plate as you suggest.

Gave it a short 'Italian tune-up' earlier as well, runs great now.
