Warranty Job This Week. Some Ideas?

Chaps, first post in a long time. Wifey's iQ3 is coming up for its third birthday so we don't have many weeks left to put those niggling problems in for inspection. One that's being looked at next week is a rattle that seems to emanate somewhere in the upper half of the driver's door pillar. I can't say that it's the seat belt at fault. Does anybody know if there's anything else behind the trim that could explain it? I'm sort of prepared that Mr. T will say we looked but couldn't find anything which is fair enough as the rattle (like all rattles) comes and goes and not under the same conditions. Maybe they will find something but if anyone has any knowledge of what else could be in there we'd be interested in reading about it.

Many thanks.

Welcome to the forum.

Does it happen what ever height the seat belt is set at?

I thought a few times that i had a rattle in the drivers door pillar and wondered how it was only very occasionally.

Turned out it was the rear seatbelt loose & not put in the holder that caused the rattle, the sound was travelling.

You do not have a rear seatbelt clip, so try maybe wrapping it in something & see.

George, thanks for the information. The rattle seems to be roughly towards the top. Shows how much we know because we didn't know the seatbelt height was adjustable. I'll check the car at lunchtime and see if there's anything else that could explain it.

Sorry if Maybe it is not adjustable.

I had one that was and one that was not.

The Adjustable one was on the iQ with the Adjustable height drivers seat. (i think 'doh')

Really never paid attention in any others i have driven.
