Drift taxi

Can someone please tell me if the new shape 2,2 diesel engines have been modified so that the head gaskets won't let go any more or are they just extending the warrantys still? As have a 2.0 but when change it would like the extra torque of the 2.2 but don't want it to blow up!!!!!

afaik the TSB covers Avensis production up until the end of February 2009 - so there could be a few early T27s affected (they were in dealers by the end of 2008 & presumably building up pre-launch stock before that).

After that afaik you should be OK.

it's possible to get oversteer with fwd - I used to be able to with a Mazda 323 & there are plenty of fwd rally cars. ;)

All 270 have the improved AD engine, you can easily tell by the different EGR valve. From a poppet and solenoid type to a butterfly valave type. The improved engines can still suffer from oil consumption and headgasket failure but no more than any other engine. SERVICE IT.
