Isnt it Budget day Wednesday?

As some one who does 20-25,000 miles a year im not looking forward to it :(

This road privatisation thing looks like a scam unless they apply it to new build roads only. Really could do with extending the 3 lane A1 from Leeming Bar all the way to Edinburgh and a new motorway from the M40 down to M4. M1 should be 4 lanes per side all the way like at Nottingham.

Blimey they have even changed the day ... Its always been on a Tuesday....

Road privatisation can only mean one thing ... More money out of Our pockets... But the apparently We are wealthy enough to own a car so should bend over and eat soap ??

My local BP was charging 155.9 for ultimate the other day..normal stuff 146.9.

Supermarkets not so cheap either for their muck!

We are out on a limb and a bit more rural in West Cumbria so not much competition. The bar-stewards rob us.

The independent garages selling the lesser known fuels are generally the biggest robbers round here though

Looks as though £150.9 is the cheapest in the Blackpool area.

I use Petrol Prices Website to search before I fill up . . . . Although I don't drive out of my way to do so as that sort of defeats the object.

But yes I expect more tax on fuel, Beer (I make my own), wine and spirits. . . . I think I'm becoming accustomed to the taste of soap

UK always had a rep for the highest prices in Europe, but I saw a garage outside Amsterdam selling Diesel for €1.76 (so about £1.60 a litre)

Prices round here (east borders) seem to be at the £1.44/Litre for std diesel

Bet you the UK Chancellor doesn,t touch Fuel, it,s too immotive at the moment and he will not put the increase on in August either. By the way the Chinese are facing the same problems with Fuel at the moment . The Chinese Gov have just increased the price to 70p per ltr for diesel and 65p for petrol, and it,s the fastest growing car market in the World. So it looks like we,ll all need to get hold of an Horse and Cart soon!!!!!! Regards Clare

I'm going to go with Posh fuel for the time being, as I drive over to the stables (Forward thinking I've already got the Horse Clare ;) ) almost daily there is a Shell garage that I fill up at, so it will probably be vPower . . . I avoid BP as it is !Removed! Pricey, and of all the fuels I've used Shell gives me the best running

Does it matter that in the last 4 months that i have put Tesco then Esso then Shell fuelsave & now Shell V power all through my Fuel system.

I shall do my weekly fill up thurs afternoon when i finish work early, can't decide wether to stick with V power or revert to Esso.

I do think VPower has benefits to keeping an engine clean, but something like BG244 may well do the same thing and that works out to 1/5th of a penny a mile whereas VPower costs aout 3 x that per mile.

So is it worth buying VPower if it doesn't also give you more miles per gallon?

Sort of off and on topic I guess :)

It very definitely gives more MPG. Having done the miles I do and experimenting with both ordinary and posh fuels I can assure You of this...

Plus it will hopefully benefit the 2AD engine..

I will not be getting into another what to put in the tank debate because they just become vary boring.. Everyone swears by what they buy and use and that's that..

If Vpower was not giving the extra miles I would still buy it given the fragility of the 2AD engine and on the advice of a very well versed Service Manger...
