Hi! Newbie To Toyota's, But Not Car Forums :)

Hi All,

Mike here, from Bedfordshire. My wife and I recently placed a deposit at a Toyota dealer in Letchworth, for a 2008 Toyota Auris, TR VVti MM (flappy paddles) :)

Well excited (we initially went to look at a Nissan Note! Thankgod we didn't go for that)!

Practicallity over desire here I am afraid, although I must admit I have always liked the Auris, and the interior on this one is like new. It's got just 25000 miles on it, the outside needs some TLC but the dealer will be carrying out a respray, blow in, and mop of the car before we collect.

I am a car enthusiast at heart, and have owned many hot hatches (SEAT Ibiza Cupras, Honda Civic Type-Rs, etc), saloons (SEAT Leon PD150) and boring cars such as an Auto Astra, a SmartCar, and a SEAT Ibiza Ecomotive.... I am currently using Y plate Ibiza Cupra as a daily, and am a proud owner of a Ford Mustang GT as a weekend toy... :)

The Auris is not meant to be a hot hatch repalcement, but a sensible, reliable car choice. beign the TR model it appears to have a really nice interior, nice alloys, and generally a nice looking ar inside and out. I hope its the right decision!

I do not plan on "modifiying" or changing anything on the Auris, perhaps the headlight bulbs if they are pants, but thats about it. I've already looked into an AUX in add-on, but from what I have read, its not possible without an FM Modulator, and IMO they are pants.

So there we have it, should collect car Saturday morning (24/3/12).
