Decals For New Cars Only (Sic!)

Saw the new decals and enquired of Inchcape Toyota the cost for fitting to my iQ, a few months old. Was told: "only factory fit for new cars or we will fit for crashed cars only if they already had the decals - will of course sell you the decals but you will have to fit yourself and it could undermine (car?) warranty". Not very impressed.

On a happier note and having broken a mat restraining clip, found it will only cost me £2.22 for a set of four new ones!

Did you actually ask them if they would fit them if you were paying them to do it?

And the answer was no, but we can Sell you them?

If they dont want to, some other proffesional bodyshop will without a problem.

Nobody can be expected to do it for free though surely!

re Voiding a Warranty.

Are they trying to make out a 'decal/sticker fitted by anyone but them will Void a Paint Warranty or a Corrosion Warranty.

(i would like to see them turning down and treating a rusty back hatch because you have a GB sticker on the Plastic Bumper)

Or a Decal no place near the place that has a paint or corrosion problem.

The Vehicle Manufacturers Paint or Corrosion Warranties are not worth the Paper they are or are not written on anyway in almost all cases. IMO.

Not often you see a panel with a hole in it anymore.

(within 6-9 or 12 years or whatever)

Couldnt Void a Mechanical warranty surely.

(unless someone is putting TOYOTA decals on their brake calipers maybe)

They are having a laugh.

Well actually, they are the ones that need laughed at.

No shortage of places that will make you any decal you want, and probably as good if not better, and cheaper than any Toyota item.

Probably the ones you have seen will come up on eBay anyway.

Taz, you and your shopping lists. :P

The show seen out there is way beyond anything we will ever manage here! Looking at the quality of the work is like night and day IMHO. Yes I've been to car shows in both the UK and Cali, I've even helped out in hot rod workshops and body shops over here in the past, and unlike over there we here don't spend the kind of money required.

Put limo black windows on the same cars from the different countries and you'll tell the difference straight away.
