How many......er, valves etc, in & around my engine bay are involved in activating / working the turbo please ?

Before i book it into Mr T ,just like to get an idea how much they may have to take apart.

It's at the back of the engine, does not look to difficult to remove to me, unless the bolts snap off on the exhaust end?

2 maybe 3hrs labour to remove?

Had a good look at mine yesterday while I was under there, its tiny

There is the VSV, turbo pressure sensor and the vac unit. Then you are on to the turbo itself as Jedi has described.

I think Jedi is right though and its likely You could book the car in for expensive diagnostics and get no answers ??

Intermittent fault like that will be hard to diagnose, I suspect....

Yes.....you're both sooooo right,it's horrid worrying about what " might " happen.

Although,i am tempted at the weekend to drive from colchester down the A120 to stanstead,up the M11 to Cambridge then round back past Ipswich on the A14,then down the A12 back home.

It would be a 200 mile round trip ,just to see what happens.

If it handles it,great.....if it don't ....i have Club Toyota AA cover

Use the AA cover in the lakes if need be, use the money you save by not going to Toyota on some new boots :D
