Help 4 1/2 Yo Verso 2-2 D4D Sat On Drive Dead As A Dodo ;-(

Our 57 plate 2-2 D4D is sat on the drive dead as a Dodo ;-( We can't even get in it as the metal key won't open the door ;-O We have just had the RAC out and he has checked the Battery (OK) and that the key is working (yep no problem) but there is nothing more he can do, the car is simply not responding ;-( Has anyone experinced anything like this? Is it another key problem although that seems unlikely given the RAC man checked it. He said he had never come across a car that wouldn't open using the metal key either as that key is supposed to over ride all other systems. All we can do is to get it taken on the back or a lorry to our not so local dealer and we are terrified as to how much this is all going to cost to fix. We have had the car from new and it only has 34K on the clock. We bought the car based on Toyotas reputation and are very disappointed to have a dead car sat on the drive especially as this is the only car we own having sold my old and very reliable Audi 2 years ago due to the cost of living ;-(
