Deisel Particulate Filter - Do I Have One?

Hi, I have being reading threads about DPF 's but I can't find an answer to this question.

There must be a way of finding this out from the VIN or engine number perhaps?

Its fairly fundametal but the car hand book in inconclusive.

Can anyone help please and sorry if there is already an answer in a thread which I could not find.

Hi Len,

can you be a little more specific about the model and variant of RAV you have? I'm not exactly sure when the '180HP engine became available but, from memory ( always a dangerous thing with me! ) that had/has a DPF. The 137HP engine ( I have a 2008 one of those ) dosen't. HTH

The engine in my RAV is the 2AD - FTV - 136 bhp engine.

In which case it seems you have answered my question!

But I would appreciate confirmation on the point if possible.
