Is The Mr2 A Good Handelling Car?

On a drive through country roads yesterday I had great fun slinging it round corners etc but i'm wondering if it is actually that good handelling, I have probably too big a tyre 17'' with some very wide tyres which does give me lots of grip but is good handelling more about feedback, Steering feel and responsiveness of an engine rather than outright power.

My N/A engine has been tuned for responsiveness and torque so 2nd and 3rd gear are the fast road gears to use which means using the revs after 4000rpm all the way up to 7000rpm. I would say I get lots of feedback from the steering but what are your experiences.

I suppose it's relative to what you've driven previously? I owned three Nissan 200SXs in various guises before the MR2. Great cars and fantastic fun but I'm so much more confident with the MR2's cornering ability.

I do believe the cornering ability is pretty sweet. What fast road gears do you usually use and where do you think the twin cam kicks in? I believe it's about 4000rpm.
