Cd Information

I have a TSpirit. When I play a CD, the screen comes up with CD name and track name blank. How do I input that information, or should it work it out for itself?

I think about 18 CD's were sold with the details encoded that would show on the Toyota cd player. My cheap t3 cd player also has the name and track function and I think it only ever worked once and I think that was a copied cd (not that I ever bought one etc etc)

The Gracenote database on the cd player which finds the names of CDs and their tracks is out of date as soon as you get the car new. It won't find the names on new CDs, yet if you play a copy of a cd, copied on your PC along with the track names, it will display them.

I don't hink you can input the track names directly in to the car (exept the CDs copied to the hard drive on the Gen 3), but copied cds should display them.

Just to confirm you have a Gen 2 with the six disc auto-changer?

As Grumpy says, not many pre-recorded CDs ever included the text information.

I can confirm it works, if you create your own data CD that contains the tracks as MP3 files. But the track name is only displayed when the car is stopped - apparently displaying the name whilst the car is being driven was thought to be safey issue!
