Cd Player

In my gen5 I have the Toyota factory fitted stereo, which consists of a tape deck and a cd deck.. So I have this massive unit.. The sound quality is still really good, but when listening to the cd and going around corners it cuts out for a few seconds... If I buy a new cd player it will be thinner than the one in the car at the moment.... Is there anybody that makes a blanking plate to accomidate the modern stereo's...

been there done that too many time in the toyotas. In New Zealand we can get plastic pockets to blank off the hole left after replacing factory stereos. I can't see why you shouldn't be able to get them anywhere else. they go for about $40NZ (bout 15 pound) and can be bought at any car audio installer or most auto accessories stores. the ones i use actually use the factory mounting plates as the screw mounts are aligned with the plates on the pocket. very neat and tidy and sorta useful too.

Halfords sell a pocket which also doubles up as a cd holder!

I bought one for my mr2,

think it was about 12 quid and fits in the standard double din mounting points

You will prob need to buy an iso connector plug too,

also around 10 to 15 quid.
