Auris 1.4D-4D Cone Filter

Hi, I was wondering if someone has fitted a cone filter to an 07 Auris 1.4D-4D. I have done some research but I only found that they fitted cone filters to Auris petrol engines. I checked the Air Filter box but due to the sensor (as shown in the pictures) it seems that if remove the box the sensor is permanently attached to it, and I do not to wish to damage it. So as far as I see it, I'll need to detach the sensor and place it somewhere else.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks :D

Hi mate. Ive just fitted a k&n panel filter to my 2.0d4d and would highly recommend it. Has made the car alot smother and better at higher revs.

The problem with cone filters is you have to cave a good supply of cold air to get the best out of them. I've got 2 K&N panel filters running on my cars! Does a great job and all. Nice to hear the turbo "Wooooooooshhhhhhh" :)

is it ok to use the performance panel filters i thought the oil in them affected the MAF

There has always been and always will me a mith about the oil in the K&N messing up the MAF! It doesnt at all. I have one on a VW Polo TDi and I've never cleaned the MAF in 215K!!!...

Nonsense

if you buy a cheap economical car why waste money on an expensive airfilter which will make NO difference to the performance.

if you want a faster car you dont buy a 1.4 diesel AURIS.

I have mine because it allows the engine to breathe better. And I find that it does make a difference when used in conjunction with a tuning box!... But each to there own I say...

Its not a case of buying one for performance is about getting the car running smother which it does.

I don't want to seem rude but by changing the airfilter it'll keep the car cooler and makes a better sound. I know that it'll not improve any performance.

Stick this in it http://www.knfilters...px?Prod=33-2953 or begin a project or bodging another vehicles system and making a mounting for the MAF sensor to live, getting a pipe that fits on your throttle body and all sorts of other stuff. Then hope the EML doesnt come straight on!

Really not worth the effort, unless your an good engineer with tools and time.

what about bringing a cold air feed up to the standard airbox would it have any improvement

I did that to a previous car.

Left the airbox where it was and fitted a 'performance' panel filter, but increased the diameter of the inlet pipe, and re-routed it to a lower part of car below the level of the engine.

I got a good cold air feed, plus it was pushed up the pipe as well as sucked, and the improvement in torque and economy was noticable, plus there was a nicer note from the engine.

Well worth the effort and £30-40 for the bits, and if you are clever it will look standard to anyone looking under the bonnet.

Just remember not to go too low (fog light level should be about right) and put a few small holes in the pipe work incase of water ingress, so you don't get hydrolock.

Well said - I've done this to two previous cars & felt the benefit :)

what kind of inlet pipe did you use?

I just used some ducting pipework from Demon Tweeks.

Just be prepared to get underneath the car and move/remove some parts under the bonnet to feed it through neatly.

Not a simple task, but cheap and effective.
